"Antique music" has been an interest for many years both as a musician (I play cornetto and lute) and as historical musical instrument maker.
Through studies and reproductions of the copies held in museums. I try to establish a correlation between the ancient musical practice and the requirements of a modern player, who relates to a public today.
I make many copies of original viols, both baroque and renaissance and historical harps with single, double and triple chorals.
With regards to the making of medieval instruments, having no examples to copy, renders necessary a research through "iconographic" sources that however document the shapes and instrumental dislocation, leaving free interpretation to each instrument maker as to their dimensions.
